Roel is a Belgian born, nationalized Mexican. He fluently speaks 5 languages (ENG, FRA, ESP, NL, ALE) and embodies the core values of what Engel & Voelkers stands for: Competence, Exclusiveness and Passion. After having lived and worked in Jamaica, Dominican, Egypt, Malta and Greece he decided the Mexican Caribbean was the ideal place to settle down and raise a family, which he did.

After being a guide for several years showing visitors the beauty of the culture and nature of our region, he became a manager of a tourism agency known for its excellence and service. When the pandemic hit and the European tourism market abruptly halted Roel saw an opportunity with the opening of Engel & Voelkers in Playa del Carmen. He immediately started his studies to become an official real estate advisor and with the combination of his local knowledge and international experience he is the man you want by your side when buying or selling property in the Riviera Maya.
